Peacock Feather Pattern Coming Soon!

This week, I’ve been working on the Peacock Charm Top design. I originally created this piece three years ago, but at the time I didn’t take any notes and never made it again—until now, when I was asked to recreate it for a custom order. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to bring this piece back to life.

After sharing some photos, I received many messages asking for a pattern. I’ve been thinking carefully about how to approach this. My patterns tend to be quite complex, and I put a lot of effort into making them as clear and easy to follow as possible. That means creating charts, taking detailed photos, and writing instructions for every single row—which can be extremely time-consuming, especially for projects with close to 100 intricate rows.

Interestingly, the crochet work for this design isn’t the most challenging part, since it’s made from repeating the same Peacock Eye motif. The real difficulty lies in assembling the pieces into the correct shape. It took me quite a while to figure out and remember how everything fits together.

And that’s just for one size. Creating multiple sizes—and properly testing them—would be a whole new level of work. Another challenge would be clearly explaining how to connect all the pieces to achieve the final shape.

For now, I’ve decided to start by creating a free pattern for the Peacock Feather, which I’ll be sharing on my website next week.

As a next step, I’m considering a Patreon video where I can show different ways to connect the motifs and shape the peacock body. It wouldn’t be a fully written, step-by-step pattern, but more of a guided approach for those with some experience who feel confident experimenting and assembling their own piece.
